The Ikarus 526 was an all-wheel drive car of the Ikarus Body and Vehicle Factory, built on a semi-finished, unroadworthy (transported in a box) chassis based on the D346 of the Csepel Auto Factory. The design of the shape came from L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Finta, the designer of Ikarus, and the lead designer of the car was L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Ver\u0151, a mechanical engineer of the Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r factory. The Sz\u00e9kesfeh\u00e9rv\u00e1r factory produced 125 of the vehicle. The car could transport 10 fully equipped firefighters and 2000 liters of extinguishing water. The pressure of the syringe was provided by the M\u00c1VAG centrifugal pump and it could take water from any living water source. ~ 40 different fiberglass polyester elements were mounted on the outside and inside of the body. It did not have power steering, an air brake system and a mechanical parking brake.
