The RAF-2910 was the first Soviet experimental solar-powered electric vehicle, created at the Riga Bus Plant in 1980 and based on the RAF-2203 “LATVIA”. It was originally developed as a silent electric referee vehicle for the 1980 Olympic Marathon, later solar panels were installed on its roof. The vehicle was manufactured by specialists from the Turkmen branch of the All-Union Research Institute of Power Sources in Ashgabat. It was the first Soviet solar-powered electric vehicle.
