VAZ-2106 “Tourist”. In 1976, AvtoVAZ tested and assembled a prototype of the VAZ-2106 “Tourist” pickup truck. The car was intended for tourists and was equipped with a tent that could be unfolded so that part of the tent rested on racks on the ground, and the other was attached to the body. The VAZ-2106 is equipped with rear-wheel drive, but the “Tourist” model was supposed to have an all-wheel drive system. The car project was developed by order of the plant management, but it was rejected. Only one car was produced, after which the project was closed.
